Amy N. Cohen, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist, health services researcher, and implementation scientist who has dedicated her career to improving the quality of care for individuals with serious mental illness. Dr. Cohen has extensive experience implementing and evaluating evidence-based services that improve patient outcomes in complex state and federal healthcare delivery systems. The goal of her work is to eradicate inequities in physical and mental health outcomes for this population. Specifically, her work has focused on improving implementation and utilization of evidence-based practices for this population and reorganizing care to be recovery-oriented and patient-centered. Dr. Cohen’s work has been continually funded through grants from the Veterans Administration, NIMH, SAMHSA, and foundations. Dr. Cohen is currently the Senior Director, Clinical Support Systems, at the American Psychiatric Association. She was an elected member of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on SMI/SED from 2013-2019.
