Maria Monroe-DeVita, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she is Co-Director of the SPIRIT Lab and Director of the Washington State Center of Excellence in Early Psychosis. An international expert on Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Dr. Monroe-DeVita trains ACT teams across the US; co-authored the current ACT fidelity measure – the Tool for Measurement of ACT (TMACT); and has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several ACT research projects, including an R34 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to develop and pilot-test integration of the Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) model within ACT. Her other areas of expertise include early psychosis, family-to-family peer support, and burnout prevention. Dr. Monroe-DeVita received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska and her B.A. in Psychology from Boston University.
