These learning sessions are from our 2026 six-session Policy Academy/Learning Community on Cross-System Strategies to Support Children with Complex Behavioral Health Conditions Series. This series was designed in collaboration with the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD), the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS), and the Link Center. The policy academy built on a recently published report by Nancy Thaler, with contributions from Stacy L. Nonnemacher, PhD, that explores how systems can better support children with complex behavioral health needs who often receive services across behavioral health, child welfare, Medicaid, developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury, education, and juvenile justice agencies. Listeners will be guided through discussions on the report’s conclusions, evidence-based treatments for children with complex needs, and applications of implementation science to advance key findings in their regions.
