Myths, Metrics, and Meaning: Measurement-Based Care Skills for Everyday Practice
Date: September 15 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT
Myths, Metrics and Meaning is a no-cost, national learning session designed to introduce practical, beginner-level strategies for using measurement-based care within community and behavioral health settings.
Measurement-based care (MBC) is a powerful clinical tool to promote client engagement and outcomes in nearly any mental health care treatment plan and service context. MBC is the routine collection and use of client-reported progress and outcome measures throughout treatment to guide a personalized, client-centered treatment approach that changes with the client and their progress over time. Join this 90-minute national event to learn what MBC is, what it isn’t, and how to leverage this practice to reduce dropouts and bring your interventions to the next level.
Learning Objectives
- Define measurement-based care based on the Collect, Share, Act model.
- Describe the differences between measurement-based care and other uses of client-reported outcome measures such as screening and outcome monitoring.
- Gain skills to review and discuss a standardized measure with a client to understand their experience, mental health need, and progress, as well as use that information for shared decision making and treatment planning.
