David Katz is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. An infectious disease epidemiologist and implementation scientist, his research interests include community-based approaches to HIV and behavioral health service delivery; HIV/STI partner services, self-testing, and diagnostics; community-engaged research methods; and the sexual and behavioral health of Latinx LGBTQ+ communities. He is the Associate Director of the Health Equity Scientific Working Group and faculty in the Behavioral Innovations Core of the UW/Fred Hutch Center for AIDS Research. He is also an evaluator for the Center for Mental Health Implementation Support Pacific West Hub and a co-investigator for the Coalition for Applied Modeling for Prevention. He previously served as an HIV/STI epidemiologist at Public Health–Seattle & King County, HIV testing services consultant for the World Health Organization, and in human subjects protections and policy at the National Institutes of Health.
