Director, National Family Support Technical Assistance Center

Gail Cormier is the Director of the National Family Support Technical Assistance Center (NFSTAC), the nation’s first SAMHSA-funded Family Center of Excellence. Ms. Cormier leads a team of staff and national subject matter experts to ensure NFSTAC meets the diverse needs of families navigating behavioral health and substance use challenges across the lifespan. With more than three decades of experience, Ms. Cormier has distinguished herself as a national advocate for families, youth, and young adults. Her expertise encompasses both professional insights and personal lived experience, positioning her as a trusted leader in the development of policies, programs, and services for vulnerable populations. Before this role, Ms. Cormier served for 14 years as Executive Director of North Carolina Families United, Inc., the state chapter of the National Federation of Families. Under her leadership, the organization pioneered the development of the Family Peer Specialists and Youth Peer Workforce in North Carolina.
